I bought this because I didn't like lugging around my 15 inch Dell. I looked at other net books but was disappointed with there performance. I use this mainly as an entertainment player when traveling. This plays all my AVI format TV shows and movies, plus You tube plays without the stutters that are normal on most other net books. The size and weight are perfect and the 11.6 screen is just large enough that you feel comfortable watching it, the 10.1's are a bit small. I love it and would call this the pefect net book.
At 399.00 you can't do better.

This is a great netbook. No problems, battery lasts almost 6 hrs. It is nice to have the screen alittle bigger than the 10.2. It is also nice that is came with Windows 7 Home, instead of Starter!

I will say upfront that I have a robust Acer Desktop Mini-tower as my primary PC so I don't need a laptop with every bell and whistle. That being said, I am floored by the performance of this little Acer 1410. Its primary use is for linking to the client database I have running on a small server at my office. But it does so well with the fun things like streaming YouTube, Hulu and the web in general. I am not a gamer so I can't comment there.
Windows 7 is clean and efficient feeling on this laptop, as if Vista and Ubuntu merged and only left the better parts. It works great so far grabbing wifi signals and even running Skype video calls.
The mouse pad pinching and scrolling feature is very helpful, iPhone-ish.
I guess I was expecting it to lag with only a 1.3 gHz Celeron but it does not let me down. The Atom equivalent seems much less capable in the Netbooks for some reason. If you are in the market for a Netbook and can stretch the extra $100, check this unit out.

Pros- comfortable keyboard, HDMI and RAM expandable to 4GB

Cons- processing speed, no 3g wireless. The included ram is 2 1gb sticks, so you have to get 2 new 2gb sticks to max it out. The outside of the lid has a smooth texture so it covered in gets fingerprints but that's very minor.

Overall great for a 3rd gen netbook and I actually do own this.
