I was Using AMD Since AMD 3k+ for like 2+years
and I’v Tried Intel on many platforms
IBM , DELL, ACER but i’v never sow a performance like AMD,
Tested 3000+ it on: Running Flash 8 + PhotoShop cs2 +VS2003
and it was realy cool and didnt feel that am running these applications
and my RAM was = 512
and now i bought 4600+ and it rocks.
about heat: Before or now there is no heat, Heat before coused becouse people didnt use the original Fan that come with AMD.
and i dont see anything wrong with AMD.

So do you ever wonder why Intel would spend hundreds of millions of dollars to squash it’s competition,Then get get sued by the EU for trade violations ? Well this be the reason !
The Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition blows smoke on every processor Intel makes except the i7,which by the way will cost you 900 bones! Not enough bang for bucks there for sure.
I got this thing cranked up to 3.8 Ghz with out a hitch.Smokingly fast and stable. At this speed the i7 just barely beats this one in pure thru put.
So lets see I want to spend almost a grand for just bragging rights,NOT !!
Purchase one of these and spend the money you save here on a couple of nice video cards and ram, and your system will reward you with unreal performance, stable operation, and less duckets out of your pocket.
Now that’s a deal for sure !!!!

I had an Athlon 5000+ black edition previously that I used overclocked to 3.1 Ghz. that processor was great for the time I had it, but games such as Crysis and GTA 4 started to challenge it and my HD 4830 at medium settings. I got another HD 4830 to crossfire but it didn’t improve much in those games. The processor started to be my bottleneck. I instead sold the video card and got this Phenom 940. The games play much smoother now even with only one video card vs. the two with the 5000+ processor. DVD rips finish also faster and benchmarks improved a lot.
Best of all is that I just had to upgrade the processor without having to change motherboard and memories, as I have an Asus M3A78-T that supports both AM2 and AM2+ processors as well as AM3, so the upgrade path can be very smooth. For the price, this is one of the best upgrades I’ve done to my system. Performance difference between a Core i7 in games is almost non existent, which is my primary use for this rig.
Couldn’t be happier.

Yes, another review to tell you how great this processor is … let me say that this baby works great, no sticking but you need to compliment this with the right board and Ram. I personally did the ASUS M3N78 pro with Corsair RAM and I have no complaints.
However, it runs hot and the temp builds up fast! But it never tripped! Had it running several mediocre apps without ac for over 9 hours and I had no blips.

Low priced and kick @ss!! Got mine overclocked to 3.8Ghz on air cooling!
18.5 x 206 x 10 – runs stable without a problem, but had to up the CPU voltage
Runs cool with all my crazy cool fans in my super huge case – recommend this to performance users.
