If there’s a rebate on this product. RUN as fast as you can. Do NOT expect to receive it. Antec is the WORST company when it comes to rebates. The falsely claim they never received it, and then repeatedly push back the dates they claim they are going to mail it hoping you’ll forget about it. They don’t respond to BBB complaints and lie to the AG. This is a HORRIBLE company that produces mediocre products.

I bought this product because it was rated very well by the other ratings. However, mine arrived with a “Windows 98 or Windows 98SE” installation disk. I double-checked online that it was indeed compatible with the Windows XP version I had, so I tried using the CD anyway. A pop-up window came up which confirmed it was only useable with Windows 98, so now I am waiting for a response from the Antec web site, since there were no searchable downloads for this product!

This product only runs on windows 98, I am running vista and windows 7, did damage to both computers I tried on,
still have no sound on one, worked on them both for hours and hours…..Downloads from the manfacturer do not work, and you cannot contact t hem. Driver detective could not correct, went to manf again for downloads. So sorry I was really hoping it would work, as I have a hdd, I need to open.

First, I am not a computer novice.
I had a damaged workstation but the hard drive survived, so I purchased this enclosure to download the information onto a new and larger hard drive. I purchased this item because it claimed it was compatible with Windows Vista, but when I put in the installation disc, it would not autolaunch. When I had to open it manually, I noticed there were no drivers at all included for Windows Vista…in fact it only had drivers for Windows 98! I had to contact the manufacturer, which I am still waiting for a resolution on this situation, but I am VERY disappointed with this product. It will not even acknowledge the USB connection as a new hardware connection…what’s up with that?!

Hey, this is a good product. It’s compact, mostly cuz it uses Sata connection, internally. It should be noted, that this Sata ext drive, is much superior to IDE connection, internally, cuz it’s 1) quicker to connect, 2) smaller, and more compact, in size, 3) and best is, the Sata response is 20 times better to feel, touch, and use, over IDE connections drives (i have both types.) This little drive enclosure, assembles easily, and is precise, so the screws fit, super good, and so they don’t bind, and there’s not a hitch, so you connect them seriously, and w/ precision, and that is NOT a problem (forget the guy who tried to nal the screws (he complained w/ no cause.)) Get this enclosure, you will like it. btw/ buynow inc, who sells this at Amazon, ships from Texas, and takes a couple days 2 get it in the post. Great drive enclosure, recommended, A+++.
