Someone at APC chose to omit the mounting holes from this unit. Um, hello? The cost to APC on manufacture is about zero for the molded-in mounting holes, Why the omission?
All the APC (several) units I’ve used over the years had mounting holes, and I was able to neatly mount all in out-of-the-way locations. I cannot mount this unit, so it is useless for my purpose.
As a design change, this was a dumb idea. Now I have to wonder if there are other less-obvious poor choices the APC folk might have made in the design.

The APC backup is a good product. Documentation is quite sparse and misleading. Technical support via phone to help set it up was even worse than documentation. I advise you not to buy the product unless you have set one up before.

I connected this battery backup and plugged in my PC and Monitor power cables to the back up system. All other devices plugged into the Surge protection outlets only. The PC says it estimates about 14 minutes of backup power if using the battery. I tested it, and unplugged the power from the wall. The monitor started making a bunch of weird lines across the screen, but was still readable. I left it unplugged for about a minute. When I plugged it back in, the PC said the battery had about 45% left. I don’t think this battery lives up to what it says. I will never buy an APC again after this.

This item is a bedrock piece of highly reliable equipment. I feel extremely confident that my connected electronics are well protected with the APC BACK-UPS ES 8 Outlet protector.

I have several of these. It seems they don’t reliably warn you when the battery is gone. I have all my equipment into backups like this. The ones plugged into these devices started going out with every power flicker. I am guessing the battery is dead, but there is no way to tell that looking at the device.
