I needed a backup for my office so I wouldn't have to carry my other adapter back and forth from home... Adapter works perfectly.

So far my magsafe 60w power adapter is doing exactly what its supposed to...charging my macbook. Only time will tell how good this product is. My last one lasted a little over three years, which apparently is pretty good for one of these things. I've read other reviews where people's only lasted about a year. So as of right now I'm happy, when it burns out I'll let you know.

Allow me to preface this review by saying that I am in no way irresponsible with my MacBook, as in fact after nearly a year, it is still in great condition. However, I am annoyed with this particular 'accesory,' which is hardly an accesory due to its vitality to the entire computer using problem. Despite appropriate caution, this power cord is constantly the source of woe for me-- the first time, the cord just suddenly snapped while in use, perhaps because of consumer ignorance, but it certainly didn't seem as though keeping it totally straight was a prerequisite. $80 later, and I am taking appropriate measure of caution with my new adapter. However, I suppose that the fact that I use a very sturdy, heavy desk chair didn't occur to me, as after getting caught under the wheel of said chair, seems to have just short circuited. I am certainly not one to jump to accusations, but to me it seems that their effort to put 'functionality and design' on the forefront, Apple has sorely neglected half of that promise: while the adapter certainly looks nice, it is useless to me if the only thing it does is raise funds for more inferior products to create a perpetual chain. Forgive me, Mr. Jobs, if I choose not to buy my next computer from you, then.

I've been using the charger that came with my Macbook for at least two, maybe three years now, and it's only just now starting to give out a little. I mean, obviously it would've been nice if it had lasted longer, but I don't think two to three years is too bad of a run. None of my friends with Macbooks (and I have several) have this problem either. What are you people doing to make your chargers die so early? Stop yanking at them, jeez.
