ArctiClean is a two-step cleaning process that removes existing thermal grease or pads and prepares the thermal surface for a fresh application of thermal interface material. ArctiClean is a specially formulated product to remove TIM from heatsinks and electronics.

ArctiClean 1 Thermal Material Remover quickly emulsifies and dissolves the existing thermal grease or pad from the CPU and/or heatsink so that it can easily be removed with a clean cloth or paper towel. A few drops of ArctiClean 2 Thermal Surface Purifier and some gentle wiping then removes the remaining residue and inhibits flash corrosion on copper or aluminum.

This is a really great kit for removing old thermal compound and preparing the chip and heatsink surfaces for new thermal paste. I’ve used this stuff quite a few times, and it works really, really well. The remover is quite powerful, and will remove even stubborn, ancient paste that’s gotten as hard as glue. I’ve used this to remove maybe types of thermal paste, including the amazingly tough stuff that was under my Asus Formula X48 motherboard’s northbridge. The surface cleaner is really nice and helps clear away any traces of debris or remnants of the old compound. This stuff just works, and for the price, is a must have if you’re building a computer or installing a new CPU.

After I bought the Artic Silver 5 for my new cpu I found I needed to clean it and the heatsink. I bought it here and received it in 2 days. The web site has very clear and explicit instructions on how to use it. The support is excellent and quick. I can highly recommend the product and the company.

I bought this for a repair on my X-Box RRoD Issue… It did it’s work, and my X-Box lasted a few months before returning to the RRoD… I have and will try to rinse and repeat this again and hopefully this is an isolated incident.
