I bought this for my daughter so she could play DVD’s for my grandson who is stuck in his seat looking backwards and who gets very tired of seeing nobody and being strapped in a car seat like a crash dummy. I figured it would work to entertain him while my daughter drove him around to wherever.
I knew that it was refurbished, but I have bought refurbished before on line and that usually means somebody changed their minds and sent it back for no real good reason, and I have been very successful at finding decent stuff this way and not paying full retail for it.
This DVD came poorly packaged with no bubble wrap to protect it. Got lucky tho and it was packaged well enough to survive the trip. However it came with NO INSTRUCTION MANUAL, AND THE CASE WAS SCRATCHED UP SO IT WAS WELL USED, OF THIS I AM SURE. So all the talk of being “factory” refurbished was not actual. So far it has worked fine, tho the sound doesn’t appear to be very loud. I am sure the head phones will be sufficient for most people who are not trying to entertain a 11 month old while in a car seat. Now if I can only figure out what all these buttons and switchs are for….maybe Audiovox has a website to download a manual…I will just have to search around and see. For $150, It should have been included in the package. I bought from a company called: Tech for Less LLC, thru amazon….

And for crying out loud, put some bubble wrap around this fragile electronics when it gets shipped…fire the shipping clerks who are too stupid to do it right.

Got this item for my husband to watch DVDs as we were flying across country for Thanksgiving.Worked a total of 45min. Screen would not light up properly to see movie. Just had a chance to return it. Hopefully I will get a new one or a credit. One good thing, I ordered it late and they got it to right on tome!

You will hear nothing but raves for this product from our house. It has an excellent picture, great sound … it’s easy to use and is certainly a superior piece of technology. (The zoom feature is a real plus.) Would recommend the Audiovox D2016 10″ Hi-Fi Slim Line Portable DVD Player to anyone … and it’s at a great price too.

I read existing reviews for this product and was impressed by them. They indicated that the sound was excellent, picture was excellent. However, I now feel that I was merely paying for portable DVD use for 3 months — the length of warranty. It cost me $50 per month to have a portable DVD player available. We also have an Audiovox dual car DVD player system. It jumps repeatedly and will quit playing if the cords connecting the two players are touched. I will not purchase an AudioVox product again in the future. Their quality leaves a lot to be desired.
