If you want to cook eggs on your notebook this is the way to go. Don’t be stupid and put your poor laptop on a soft surface. You will insulate the heat, and smother the fans. I can’t believe they are selling this!
Try this for the lap:
HandStands Laptop Lap Desk Mat Pad – Comfortable laptop computing
And this for everyday desktop cooling:
Rubbermaid / Rolodex Ventilated Adjustable Metal Laptop Stand (48626)

Works as advertised, very happy with it! A comfortable product to use and it also keeps the heat off of your body. If you own a small “netbook” it might actually fit inside the middle storage area of the Belkin Cushtop, which is very convenient. If you’re in the market for this type of product, this is the one to get. Highly recommended!

So good I’m using it right now. I have an HP laptop and they’re known for getting really hot when you have it on your lap for a while. I’m always using my laptop on my bed or at the TV room (it’s on my lap in both situation), so this came in handy! I thought it was a little softer, but no, it’s actually pretty hard. Laptop sits on top of it and it doesn’t even move at all!
That space in the middle it becomes pretty handy for me. I put all sorts of things in there: cell phone, tv remote control, the cable of the mouse, dvd cases, etc.
Good product! A friend of mine came home and saw this product. He actually waited for me to come home to ask me where did I get it because he wanted one so bad!

Is kind of thick but works for me – elevates the computer for easier reading.

I bought this because I was getting some nerve damage from too much typing. The Cushtop works well in bed and is slated so if you need a higher incline you can just turn the Cushtop around. The hole in the middle is useful – supposedly for hiding wires – but I just keep books and pens in there. I’m a happy customer and think this is a better choice than some other brands only because of the height if affords me.
