I didn’t like the frequency response at all. This center channel made it very hard to understand certain people talking in movies. It had a huge hole in the frequency response. I temporarily put a cheap bookshelf back and the difference was incredible. I could not see that the speaker was damaged in any way, but maybe it was defective? I know the tweeter was working, but the bass was so high compared to the highs that it was awful.
I retured it to Amazon for a refund, and got an Infinity PC350, which is just too big in my opinion, but it sounds great.

i just got this thing in the mail and i am very pleased with the speaker. i just about had the volume at max (listening for distortion) and it held up very nice, the sound stayed great. for the price you cant go wrong, get this speaker and you wont be dissapointed.

if your looking for power go elsewere, but if you looking for a older system that produces clear crisp voices down to the slighest cough this is the way to go. bigger then seems in picture. and yes this system needs a two week break in period before you get the full sound.

A center channel speaker performs a vital task. It delivers 98% of the dialog in everything you watch. I will say that initially (pre-calibration) I was disappointed with the performance of the DV52CLR. I had to turn up the volume to uncomfortable levels where my DV62s were screaming just to properly hear what people were saying through the DV52CLR. I was upset & assumed that I had made a mistake for not sonically matching my center to my other speakers. As it turns out, all I needed to do was adjust the crossover to allow the subwoofer to handle some of the lower freq. which added the “umpf” I was looking for.
Where the DV52CLR lacks in volume, it makes up for in clarity. It recreates the sounds of peoples voices very well, delivering even the smallest of details. It shares the same exquisite build quality of the DV64 floorstanding speakers. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say it could probably withstand a nuclear blast. And finally, one of my favorite attributes of the DV52CLR is its elegant design. BIC America has really done an incredible job with the creation of the Venturi line. It has been an excellent addition to my living room & would definitely look great in yours too.

I decided to do an upgrade to my home theater system and purchased the Pioneer VSX-819H-K receiver. I am on a budget so I upgraded my home theater in a box Onkyo speakers and purchased the BIC America DV62sis for my left and right and this DV-52CLB for my center. I have been very pleased with the sound quality coming out of these speakers. I play a lot of Blu-rays using DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD and this center channel speaker provides great crisp dialogue. I have no complaints and will buy from them again.
