The Bissell steam mop for bare floors is ready to blast away grime in just 30 seconds and gets the job done without the use of chemicals or detergents. Powered by a tank of tap water, the environmentally friendly mop shoots steam out of its 10-1/2-inch floor nozzle when you pull the handle trigger. The machine-washable terry-cloth mop pad wipes up the results. Slim and lightweight, the mop features an easily maneuvered swivel head with a conveniently shallow profile for under cabinets and shelves. It is safe for use on marble, ceramic, stone, vinyl, laminate, linoleum, and sealed hardwoods—all of which should dry after cleaning in a matter of seconds. An externally mounted filter features color-changing beads to indicate when it needs replacing. The machine can be used with distilled water to prolong the filter

I purchased this unit from Amazon a week ago. After reading the glowing reviews on this website, I ordered it with great expectations. I assembled the unit, put on the mop head, filled it with water, and was ready to clean floors. Much to my dismay, as soon as I put the plug in my kitchen outlet, I heard a “click”. The GFI had popped. I then went to the laundry room, and plugged it in that outlet. Once again, “click”. Needless to say, it popped every GFI in every bathroom as well. I called customer service at Bissell and explained my problem. I was fed a line of crap that the GFI outlets are “ultra sensitive” and that the steam mop draws too much power. The label on the back of the unit rates it at 1500 watts. The same as my hair dryer, which works just fine in GFI outlets. I asked the service rep, what good is a hard floor cleaner that you can’t use in a kitchen or bathroom? She said that there was nothing she could do, and was sorry. I commented that the only way I could use it was to run extension cords from other rooms. Guess what? She told me that Bissell doesn’t recommend using extension cords with this unit. Save your money. The product is junk, and the customer service is bull.

I hate mopping! So, when I came across this and read the reviews it received, I just knew I had to order it. It’s a quick and convenient way to clean your floors. The steam does a decent job of cleaning the floors without chemicals. All in all, it’s definitely worth the price and more. I must admit that I am giving it only 4 out of 5 stars, because I am just one of those skeptical people that questions in the back of his/her head how this works with no chemicals. So, every once and a while I do the whole mop, bucket, and Pine Sol thing.

This is a great product. It cleans wonderfully and it is light and easy to maneuver. Make sure you get some extra pads.

This is a cool product but it’s principally a floor cleaner. My boss at work got one of those new vapor steamers. It does the floors and the shower and the countertops…and just about anything else you could ask of it. Most people don’t know what vapor is. I never heard of it until recently. This site has a fun quiz that helps explain the difference: http://vapor-systems.com/products.htm
