After reading mostly great reviews about this all in one printer, I couldn’t wait to get it. After spending about 12 hours trying to get it to work (I was using a USB connection thinking that was the easiest) my computer just would not recognize this machine. I uninstalled and re installed so many times, my head was spinning. Tech support are a bunch of jerks. They kept e mailing me to do the things I had already done numerous times. I finally called tech support and, after two hours of trying to help me, he finally decided it was my AOL that was causing the problems (like I’m the only person in the world to buy this piece of junk machine and use it with AOL). Then another tech support moron told me I should contact my computer company (Dell) since it was probably a computer problem. Give me a break. I can’t wait to bring this hunk of junk back to where I bought it. Never have I had so much aggravation from a simple piece of equipment.

It lasted about 1 month. After a brown out, the machine would not turn on again (even though it was connected to a surge protector).

Will the Brother MFC-490CW Color Inkjet work with a wireless “N” home network ? I only see “G” mentioned in the reviews?
Thanx

Wish I’d read more of the negative reviews before buying this thing, because all it ever had to say to me was “paper jam” right from the beginning. Never could get it to work, and frankly who has time for such nonsense these days?
It’s back to HP for me…

I read the reviews, and it seemed good. It did cost less. I could not get the wireless to work. Gave up on that, so use the cord, which works fine. Unfortunately, everytime I plug it in, it has to clean itself for several minutes. Also, I sometimes have problems getting photo paper to feed. The finished product, when I finally get it, is good, though. I don’t use the fax. The scanner works, but I haven’t figured out if I can change pixels or dpis or whatever. Overall, I would not buy it again. I would spend more and get a product I liked better.
