Be Aware!
The tech. details on this item ARE INACCURATE and somewhat misleading unless you read carefully!
This cable Can Not and Does Not transfer data at 800 MBPS (the New Firewire 800 standard). It can’t because the 4-pin end is for the “old” (yet still in wide use) Firewire 400 standard. A “hint” when you’re shopping is if the package says 800/400 …. it doesn’t operate at the 800 …. it ALWAYS works at the LOWER RATED SPEED! Bottom line is the max rate is 400 MBPS … not 800. Don’t be fooled!

It is, after all, a cable, and should work without a hitch. And that is exactly what it does. I use it to transfer video to my MacBook and it works swimmingly. The length is perfect for my setup but you may want to consider if you need a longer cable for your own. I have even used this while doing video transfer at Starbucks.

Upon buying a brand new Imac I realized it had The Firewire 800 port on the back. I looked everywhere for this cable and no one seemed to have it. I ordered it here and had it within three days. Excellent service, the cable is perfect in every way. works great. I would order more cables from Cables Unlimited anytime. Great service and pricing.
