This is my first time owning a computer that I was responsible for everything about it. I find that this cartridge is easy to install, but the cost is quite expensive unless you do a lot of shopping around. This item is not available at many of the discount places. I would like to know why I need to install a color cartridge to be able to use only black. I find that each cartridge (4) that the printer Canon BJC-3010 uses does not run out at the same time and gives you a warning when either color runs out and unless you install the one that’s ran out the printer does not work. I did have a problem trying to usea refill kit with this item, so far I have been unable to refill it with the refill kits that is available.

This product is very easy to use, but the thing I don’t like is that it can be somewhat messy when you are taking out the old cartridge. Unless you are really careful, the ink as you are removing the old cartridge will get all over you or/and your desk. Other than this, I think it is a good value, and the quality of the product is excellent.

Like many inkjet users, I have tried to save some money by buying third party inks. Well there is such a difference it is amazing. My printed had died and when fixed, the repair center showed me what my off brand looked like, and what Canon Ink looked like. That was it I will only use Canon’s ink. The ISO 9002 standard inks were not as vivid as the Canon’s, the Black looked like it had Gray in it.

Don’t bother with any other ink for your Canon printer. I tried cheaper ink and it was a waste of money and time. Simple documents didn’t even printe right and pictures basically were a waste so I was then out on the ink and photo paper. Never again, this is great ink and works as it should. Don’t settle for less.

Works fine in my Canon S520. Good for text or for B&W photos. I generally only buy the name brand stuff ’cause it’s designed to work with the particular printheads on the machines it’s used in, so they don’t clog up (unless you leave them sitting for months on end)… Gets decent but not outstanding cartridge lifetime, as with many printer inks.
