The Canon BU-30 Bluetooth Adapter for the Canon PIXMA MX850, Multi-function Printer is mostly worthless, here’s why.
The Down-Side:
* Uses 1st Generation BT technology > Weaker Reception & Signal restricted to about a 7-Foot radius.
* Can not be Upgraded via any Firmware Updates
* Canon Customer/Technical Support has No Other Options or SOLUTIONS to offer. YGWYB (YouGetWhatYouBuy) philosophy, period.
* For Simple Printing ONLY! You cannot Scan, Copy, Fax!
* Would love to get any 3rd party recommendations for my MX850 Printer as it is a solid 4.5-Star Rated Machine.

Doesn’t seem to have that great of a range…often it’s tough to print, and we have to use the other printer that we wire up directly.

Excellent provide, offers consumers great convenience. I wish Canon would consider making bluetooth rather than infrared standard in their portable printers.

I was very satisfied with this product. Just plugged the adapter into my printer, hit the print button on my MacBook Pro laptop and the computer configured itself and sent the print job to the Canon printer. It printed the job. It was that simple! I’d recommend this product to anyone who wants to eliminate the cabling between the laptop and the printer.

Easy to install; no problems in recognition and operation. Must have for my ip100 printer!
