I am also upset that there is price gouging with this item. Simple economics–supply and demand.
I searched online this morning and was able to locate and purchase 4 extra batteries from actual camera stores. Yes, I did pay extra–$99 each. BUT I do need these asap for work. All the big camera stores seem to be out of stock. Also, CDW-back order, Crutchfield, etc
I purchased this morning from Abe’s of Maine (Tom). He verified there were 10 in stock as of this morning.
Wherever you decide to order from, I would HIGHLY recommend calling first to verify before you order. Many online stores show “in stock” when actually you will be out on a wait list.

This item is clearly $79 ($89 MAX) Amazon is letting others sell it for $150-200 which is highway robbery!
Amazon, for your own good, don’t be like eBay. Filter out these scums and protect your customers.

Why does Amazon allow such insane price gouging? $79 at B&H / $200 through Amazon?! WTF?!

This product retails for $89.99 at any camera retailer. Although they are hard to find, it’s simply not worth paying the extra money!

If you’re paying above $100, let alone $140 you’re getting RIPPED OFF. Unfortunately due to the popularity of the 5D II retailers are having a difficult time keeping stock and apparently feel like they can price gouge on these items. F- them!
