I ordered this printer, I can only see disadvantage in it:
1.takes long to start printing, guess it is wrming up
2. inks run down very quickly
3. scanner does a nonsense with the OCR documents
4.the photo quality; is not all that I expected
5. Too costly for the quality of prints
6. HP better any day.

Do a search for error codes Pixma on the net. You’ll find out. I know for a fact that some can be fixed through the internal computer on the printers but Canon hides the fact to squeeze you.

The scanner function will not work. Very poor documentation and support.
I’ve been using systems as a professional for over 20 years. I’ve helped develop and document numbers of systems. The better-name brands will usually install or troubleshoot readily. I have a new HP Pavilion with Vista pre-installed (of course, Vista sucks big-time in its own right.) The scanner on this device refuses to work. Spent a day on it. Nothing yet. I got it because I wanted the scanner. So far, no joy.

Based upon Amazon reviews, we purchased this printer. The setup was simple, but the print quality was terrible. Everything was completely mis-aligned on each printed page. Canon offers an alignment process, but it is reminiscent of some complicated process one might go through with an ’80s-era dot-matrix printer.
In the end it will not align and is going back for something else. Should a new printer need maintenance right out of the box? I’m pretty disappointed.

The price of it is worth, and the appearance looks so nice. Works well so far,(I just use it to print documents and scan something so far) fine. But it does have a Bluetooth kits, maybe you should buy some kits related to it to let the bluetooth work (it supports Bluetooth linkage)
