   I purchased this as a gift for my daughter-in-law, she was delighted with the printer and is even more delighted with the pictures she has been able to produce. She thinks the printer is relativley easy to use and has no problems at all with it. A successful, great purchase.

   Ok people! its me again, you know, the whats in the box dude? First of all Amazon needs to learn how to properly ship your expensive toys!!! I cringe when I order my things from Amazon! why I do it?
   
   Maybe because I like to get slapped in the face once in awhile? Who knows? I digress… I just wanted to get the bad and the ugly out of the way… NOW! next…
   
   This printer is big and huge! so better have 26×14 inches of space on your desk or your gonna need a small morgage to invest into somemore real estate! and thats when its sitting closed up!!

   Whats in the box!
   
   1-Beautiful sexy color printer that can choke a horse!
   
   1-AC Power Cord (Two Pronger) no 3rd grounding post. The other side looks like binoculars that part plugs into the printer. You’ll probably remember this part and go, dam they do like binoculars lol
   
   1-Canon Software that will put a million icons on your desktop heee heee heee
   
   1-Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 with key code! Wahoo! don’t really care but Wahoo! Jackpot! (Pizza Hut commericals stuck in my head)
   
   1-Quick start guide. and trust me guys we dont need no stink’n instruction manuals but I used it! Just don’t tell my wife or I’ll have to shack up with you tonight along with dog and I dont own a dog.
   
   And last but not least,
   
   10-Color Ink Cartridges! They have built in RED LED’s! kind of cool to look at in AWE…… Its a guy thing.
   
   The carts are really small but I think its better so you can change them out quicker so it stays cleaner longer. Who likes a dirty ink hole sort of speak? Humm thats sounds dirty.

   Whats NOT in the box a USB 2.0 cord. WTF? its like getting a Bentley with no spare tire. Come on now! I don’t have an abundant supply of USB cables around! I have like 9 thousand condiments from 1985 sitting a drawer but not an extra USB cord. If you like some a got plenty of time.
   
   2 pieces of regular paper so it can do test prints and align your heads. Yeah when was the last time you hear that! Go get some regular paper people your gonna need it!

   The conclusion,

   Its definately a beast! prints great pictures and a purchase well thought out!

   Glossy II print outs are good but I think you need to step to the premium Glossy to get the more “Wet” look. The Glossy II’s just don’t do it for me that much. Not a printer issue.
   
   Setup is about 10 hours because the game is on now, not because it actually took that long.
   
   It’s like a transformer when you open her up! You push on the front cover and the door magically opens up like a old school garage.
   
   The back rear also opens up so you can let bigger prints past through like family from out of town you really don’t know.
   
   The top opens up and unfolds so it holds your print paper nice and perfect. Heres a note face the print side towards you! DUH! sorry I was just talking to myself.
   
   It has a squeeze tab so you can adjust your paper as needed to the very edge so the paper is feed perfectly into the print beast!
   
   Its super quiet! the only time it makes a noise, is when it launches and grabs the paper like in a kung fu movie! Hi Yah!! your cats will love it but keep the filthy little beasts away from your new toy or your going to have a [...] jam! HA!

   [...] you know want it! the faster you get it the more HOT pictures of your girlfriend you can print out! Thats what I do, just don’t tell my wife and life it good!

   I have used the Epson R1800 (and the smaller R800) for several years and when it wasn’t clogged it printed beautiful prints. The heads finally just clogged up and I was forced to get another printer. I have used other Canon products for decades so biased toward their products. I thought the Canon would be better on the clogging, and I haven’t had it long enough to judge that yet. So far I am somewhat disappointed with the printer. There are two limitations so far that are signficant for my use.

   I’m more interested in matte papers and fine art papers, and really don’t print glossy. Getting used to this printer has been somewhat frustrating. I had been using Epson Presentation Matte and getting really nice prints from a relatively inexpensive paper with good dark blacks and good shadow detail. Duplicating that with Canon has been a challenge. I haven’t been able to determine yet if it’s the profiles or the printer. My next step is to try custom profiles. I have tried several brands (Ilford, Moab, Harmon) and their suppled profiles and for some of them the blues have a purple cast, and the blacks and shadow detail are muddy. The Canon fine art paper is very nice and matches well with color, good deep blacks and shadow detail(see limitation in next paragraph). So I have yet to find an acceptable photo matte combination.

   This printer has a maddening limiation for fine art papers. Canon has decide to disable the ability to print on either end of the paper (requires a 35mm margin on each of the long ends, about 1.3 inches) so you can’t even print an 8×10 out of an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper. When I called Canon I got a run around and no sensible explanation except the engineers decided to disable the function of the printer and no workarounds. So while the image quality of the Canon fine art rag is very good, it is very expensive to use because of this limitation (which requires you to use a much large piece of paper to get the size print you expect because of all the wasted paper, 13×19 piece of paper to get an 8×10 ). I have since found other reviews mentioning this limitation, and I sure wish I had seen it before purchasing. I don’t know if you can fool it with custom profiles.

   In general it has required far more work to try to find paper combinations than I ever experienced with Epson where the profiles and papers just seemed to work. I’m still hopeful that I can find the right combination with some customer profiles, but right now the jury is out.

   I recieved my 9500 Mark 2 and immediatly set my i9900 aside. The set up was easy and instruction was easy to follow. An image was selected for printing and
   
   set up for B&W print. First print was good . made a Photoshop change and reprinted. A fellow camera club member asked where i had it processed. I said in my computer room on my new Canon 9500 Mark II printer. He said “show me”. I did and he said WOW ! since then he came by and asked me to print one of his images. I did and he said WOW again. I printed a 13 X 19 for a friend and he has it framed and on his wall until he sends to his son as a gift.

   i am really pleased with the preformance with the printer . I have tried to locate a local store to stock ink tanks but none available buti can order and have in a couple of days. I ordered a complete set and will keep a stock on hand!

   As a former owner of the Canon i9100 13×19 6 color process printer, I have to say that Canon has outdone themselves with this printer! The quality of the prints is AMAZING! My only complaint is that the printer is SLOOOOW. It took over an hour to print seven 13×19 pics. I am also VERY impressed with the black and white results. Unlike my Canon i9100, this printer doesn’t seem to “tint” the grayscale printing with ANY color ink at all. With my old 9100, the black and white’s looked a little pinkish in color. On this printer, my Black and Whites are gorgeous. Ansel Adams would be proud!
