Had to return this camera after waiting over a month.
After owning several Canon p/s that I was very pleased with and still own two, the sx200 is not at all what I expected. I have just returned it.
The pop-up flash is just a really bad design for several reasons.
The camera body has a very slippery feeling, and nothing really to anchor it in your hand with any feeling of safety from dropping.
I fear it will be a real energy eater recharging batteries and replacing much to often.
Bottom line, Canon has made a mistake with this camera.
Guess I’ll look at the Olympus 9000, or wait for the Panasonic tz7

Waited 2 months to get this camera. Got it today evening and took 50+ shots indoor and outdoor. Very bad quality indoor shots. Lots of noice and noice reduction distortion. Feels like $100 camera.I am going to return.

The camera is terrific , it is everything I expected and more. I am very happy with the camera.
But I am very unhappy with the service I received. The ad stated ships within 2 to 3 business days. Over a month later I finally received the camera. I ended up going on vacation 3 weeks after I ordered the camera without a camera. If I would have known this I could have purchased the camera locally and for less money. After I ordered the camera and my credit card was charged I was unable to contact shipper or Amazon.com. I feel Amazon.com really let me down on this order. If I need somthing in a specific timeline I will not be shopping at Amazon.com. In the past I have always been very happy with Amazon.com , I do wonder why they have changed their customer policies, I know times are not good in marketing, but why do you want to allinate your old customers. Apparently customer loyalty means nothing.

I like the camera. Didn’t know you need a card to store pictures. Many other cameras have enough internal memory to store pictures. If you are not a camera buff it will take getting used to. All cameras with features take getting used to. I wanted a camera that has enough features (Optical zoom and megapixels) that I would not need to replace it the following year. I browsed through the manual the day before I was going to use it. I was able to take pictures without being chained to the manual. Wish it came with a case.

Canon SX200 This is a wonderful camera and it should be easy to learn to use it but the instruction booklet stinks. First it is too small and the print much smaller than makes for easy reading. The pictures of the LCD
are so dark I have to use a magnifier to see what the icons are. I have 20-20 vision so I suspect I’m not alone with my thoughts. Come on Canon,
you make a fine camera but spend a few more bucks and make the booklet easier to read, esp. for the novice trying to improve his photo skills.
