I have had this for 6 months, it was doing great, then boom today, clicking noises, it let me get back at my data for a second. I should have backed it all up right there, instead I shut of the drive thinking, I can get it up again. Nope, now it instantly click beep click beep click beep. I requested an RMA. I hope my experience is better than others who have written. I am not expecting much.

Bye Bye loads of home movies. I am glad I stored them at a friends house too.

Unfortunately I purchased several of these drives to perform backups on several computers. Just after the warranty expired they all died one-by-one. I purchased a 500 GB at Costco that also died so I took it back to Costco for a replacement and that one died this morning! I highly recommend that you choose another brand.

I purchased this for use with my DirecTV DVR (HR21-100), to replace a Seagate FreeAgent 750GB (the Seagate worked fine...just wanted more disk space).

The Cavalry drive did not run as well or unobtrusively as the Seagate. At times, we'd see jitters during show playback, and lately (just a month or two after the warranty expired) we started to see longer playback pauses, until this morning...the drive seemed locked in a write state (write LED constantly on). A few restarts later, the DVR stopped recognizing that the external drive was even attached.

Maybe this drive is OK for less intensive applications, but I'll never go near Cavalry again.

I've had this product for about a year. Today, it died without warning. Bye bye, data.

The single worst purchase I've ever made on Amazon. Cheap, loud, clunky and extremely fragile. It comes with a flimsy stand and - warning - if you even knock into it slightly while it's playing it will break. The company was unwilling to do a return (as was Amazon), even though it was only three months old. NOT recommended by any means. I lost all my personal documents, photos, music, etc - AND I'm out $[...] bucks. A piece of junk. Don't buy it.
