I bought this as a replace for my original iphone 3GS cable. The cable looks just like the cable that comes with the iphone 3GS but the phone end is wider than the original. It will not fit with the Otterbox cover on so you will have to remove the cover, which is a pain. Other than that it works fine but I would not have bought it if I knew that before hand.
