I bought this 750 GB hard drive for myself to backup all of my computer stuff. As I was transferring files, an epiphany hit me. The fact that I filled up a computer hard drive and now need to use an external one points out the fact that I have no life and spend way too much time on my computer. Thanks Cirago 750 GB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive CST4750!!!!!!!

my old pc was on its way out the door. the power button wasnt working all the time, and id get the blue screen of death when to many programs were running because the operating system wasnt designed for what i was doing on the PC. ive never used external storage drives before and all the ones i was finding in the local stores were not program compatible with the operating system i was using. as a last resort i came here online to see if i could locate something that wouldnt crash my PC when i hooked it up to the USB port. yes my old PC only had 1 USB port can you belive that. so go figure when i needed a new mouse and a storage drive it was a pain cause they were all USB no PS2 port connections… i eventually did find a mouse with a PS2 compatible part which was great because all the drives were USBs only. after ordering this external hard drive i got to thinking. oh my god does it really have enough space to store all my music, exe. programs, ebooks, statements, movies, ect.. now im not computer savy so i didnt understand how big this drive was a first but now after having completed the transfer of all my crap from the old PC to this new external drive i can truly say WOW!!!! not only is it holding everything that was on my old PC but it could hold 4 times what was on my PC… let me tell you how my other PC lasted so long i do not know but for anyone not computer savy like me. this paperback book size external drive is the way to go. no problems with it at all and im still adding more stuff on it now using my new laptop computer. the price is reasonable compared to what i saw out in stores by me. so give it a whirl and see if it works for u.

this item was alot heavier and clunkier than described. and i didn’t care for the ac adapter because i was looking for a usb powered external hard drive. but for the price one couldn’t complain too much.

This thing appeared to be stable and dependable but after a couple of weeks I turned it on and found it completely inaccessible. Do not put files on this thing that you don’t expect to lose!
My PC recognizes it under “safely remove hardware” but it no longer shows up under “my computer” and is inaccessible from the disk utility. I consider myself to be very computer literate and have tried every possible remedy to no avail. Cirago customer service was completely unhelpful. I purchased this for piece of mind and data security and ended up getting the exact opposite. The least I can hope for is for Amazon to refund my money, but I can never recover the hundreds, if not thousands of dollars worth of files that have been lost forever….

The Cirago CST4500 500 GB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive is great thus far. It was already pre-formatted in the correct format that I needed (as I was planning to use this as extra storage for my PS3). I was able to transfer about 60GB of info from my laptop to free up space and another 35GB+ from my PS3 without an issue. As you all should know by now. That is only half the battle. Now, I am in the waiting phase to see if it holds up. I have seen many externals that corrupt or just fail after months or even years. So, for now, the waiting has begun.
