I know nothing about Linux, but I was able to connect this laptop to my wireless router in less than 5 minutes and surf the web. Another five minutes later and I was able to send and receive emails, write letters, open attachments and play mp3 tracks. It seems fine for the simple things or used as a second machine, its really portable, I was able to find a BT Openzone hotspot and use the instant messaging to keep in touch with the office.

Could be what your looking for.
Contrary to the views expressed in some other reviews, the CnMBook is not useless. However, it does have serious limitations in comparison with conventional laptops which, to be…

Amazon lists as a suggestion that you could buy an 8 GB SDHC card with this. Please be aware that this machine does not support this type of card. the maximum amount SD card it can take is 4 GB. Otherwise, it is a very good, functional netbook.

This is a really good product for the money. I am using it to write my review. It has a clear bright screen and a solid, proper but small keyboard. It is far easier to carry around than a laptop. It has a web browser called Bon Echo (which is a simplified version of firefox). There is a pdf viewer and a Word emulator that can read and write Word documents (though not perfectly). There is also a picture viewer and editor, and you can play music files with its speakers or headphones. It has a wireless connection that works fine. You use a USB stick to transfer files to/from your desktop. You can download more software from the cnm website. Battery life is about 3 hours. Dont be put off by the “Linux” system. The software is all very easy to use. Of course there are some niggles and limitations – many of the features you normally have are not available and it is sometimes slow. But overall I am very happy with it.

Useful Little Lightweight Netbook
This netbook is very small and very light. The keyboard uses the whole width of the netbook and is about as small as it could be while still allowing you to touch type.

This machine is utterly hopeless. Don’t bother with it.It does have one or two good points; it’s small, it finds a wireless connection quickly, and,er that’s about it.
