We are very happy with your product and service. We will definitely purchase with Amazon again.

Its screen is a little small, but I like it. It’s simple to use. I use it exclusively to run my yoga dvds, because I can’t be bothered to move my livingroom furniture out of the way to watch the dvds on the larger screen. So, it’s perfectly adequate for my needs and I’m happy with it.

This is our third attempt at a portable. So far it has been the best. The easiest to install in the car. It came complete with everything which is also great.

We ordered this player on April 29, 2009 for a cross country road trip. It worked great and I loved how it had two headphone jacks and the screen turned around so that it was flat. When it was like that and attached to the back of a car seat, though, it was really hard for the remote to catch the sensor and so the remote didn’t work well. Also, the headphones that came with the player are really big and only fit over a child’s head. They also don’t adjust at all, meaning you can’t make them go bigger or smaller to adjust to the listener’s head. They were pretty much useless for us, but another pair of headphones worked fine. We thought the cassette player would be great to help send the sound through the car’s speakers. It worked well for about two minutes and then kept cutting out. We didn’t even bother with that again. The player itself was really good. My kids used it for the whole three week trip without any issues. They have since used it to watch movies during quiet time in the afternoon. However, my son watched a movie during quiet time this last Saturday and it was working fine. When he was done he put the player up on his dresser where we keep it and it wasn’t touched again until later that evening when I wanted to use it to watch a DVD. I got it from the dresser, put the disc in and it made a really loud whirring noise that kept going and going and then gave me a “No Disc” message. We tried cleaning the laser, changing settings, double checked region settings, tried several different DVDs and tried CDs. Nothing worked. It still keeps giving us the “No Disc” message. Like I said, the player was great while it lasted, but it didn’t even last a full year. I think Coby’s warranty of 90 days is ridiculous. If you aren’t going to be using this player very often, you’re probably going to be just fine buying it. However, if you are planning on using your portable DVD player frequently, make sure you buy something else. This one obviously doesn’t handle frequent use very well.

We purchased this DVD player for our daughter to take on a trip. It seemed to be working fine. Two months go by before she used it again and I noticed that it would only play in black and white. I thought perhaps it was just the movie she was watching. One month later, we are on the plane again and it’s only in black and white. My daughter says that’s the way it’s been since day one. I try a couple of other movies and they are all the same way.
So after 3 uses, Coby will not exchange it for a new one because it only has a 90 day warranty and we’ve had it for 4 months. Other than that, it’s great. Unfortunately Coby does not stand behind this product. Amazon was also of no help as their exchange policy is only 30 days, even though this thing has never worked properly.
Anyone want to buy a sweet black and white portable DVD player?
