This game is a big dissappointment. With the anticipated release, this game is laden with bugs and game play errors. It installs fine on the computer, both XP and Vista, but never gets to game play. Always crashes, the EA support team doesn’t provide any support for this problem. Their response is always canned and scripted, no real support. DO NOT Buy this game until you read all the user forums on this game. Waste of money. Buy at your own risk, if you have 50 dollars to throw away, go ahead and purchase.

The only improvements this game shows are the graphics and the addition of third race “Scrin”. C&C games always sucked and will suck forever. The cutscenes between missions were unbelievably cheesy and boring (even though they used some famous actors/actresses) it was painful to watch them. I recommend getting World in Conflict.

Well, I picked this one up yesterday, played three skirmishes as the three different factions, which are:
GDI- The “good” guys who rely on big guns, and a lot of them.
NOD- The “bad” guys, all about stealth and tactics, a little harder to play for a newbie to the C&C universe, but well worth it.
Scrin- The new alien race, who seem to be a lot like the GDI in terms of masses of units.
So after that, I decided to go into the main story mode, where I played one mission from each side, favouring NOD over GDI. So far, in both skirmish and campaign, I have had no issues whatsoever, with the graphics’ settings cranked all the way up to full. I shut it off for the night, and started it up again today, ready for some online play. First thing that happened was an update (which might have fixed the problems the others were talking about). Once that was done, I played three consecutive games (angain, one as each race). Although I lost all three, I had no issues with the games. They were short (under ten minutes), but frankly, that’s my only complaint about this game. If you have been playing the Command and Conquer series for any amout of time, then this one is a no-brainer. If you don’t own any Real-Time Strategy (RTS) games yet, then this one would be a good starter, because you can not only adjust between easy, medium, and hard, but you can also give your enemies a handicap until you get a hang of things. All in all, this game is great, and I forsee many a sleepless night because of it.
