Item purchased as a gift. Item arrived DOA. Company had not connected the on-off switch to the mother-board. Purchase this product and you too can be disappointed when your’s arrives dead-on-arrival.

I have had two versions of this computer bought through Amazon. The first one had a defective sound card. The replacement freezes at will, for no apparent reason.I have spent hours on the phone with HP/Compaq and no one can figure out why. Amazon will not send another replacement, claiming it is no longer in stock.DO NOT BUY THIS COMPUTER.

I had this PC for week when the hard disk died. I called HP tech support and they reached this conclusion. I have spent hours on the phone with HP/Compaq and no one can figure out why. Their proposal to ship me bare bones disk. I opted for better one – returned it to Amazon. DO NOT BUY THIS COMPUTER!

Buy the CQ5210F. I bought both. Love the new one – hate the old one!(CQ5110F)
HP is overwhelmed and is not very strong in their ability to help with the upgrade. I got lucky today connecting with a great tech named Steve in the Pacific Northwest in installing the upgrade. Only took 6 weeks for HP’s ARVATO USA to expedite my upgrade disc to me after many, many calls and emails. They were worse than useless.
My 89-year-old mother (honest!!) has waited for her early Christmas present far longer than I had promised. I am ashamed, the HP Techs I have talked to have all been apologetic, and ARVATO USA personnel have been consistently belligerent and confrontational.
Skip the upgrade, save a life!

I have had no issues with the computer itself…its fast and reliable for the money. I am waiting for the HP Windows 7 update to arrive and put it to the test. Most of the bad reviews here are Vista related however HP did install it as part of the package and must be held responsible for problems with it but don’t walk away from the overall good deal! Good luck with customer service. My first call was to someone outside the US and totally impossible to speak with! A second call later and I lucked out and got an excellent knowledgeable tech that resolved my printing issue, a “Vista problem”.
