For the most part, the design is good-
Pros:
- Lots of room for video cards and for a CPU cooler
- Room to route and tie down cables
- Easy drive installation
Cons:
- Hard drive noise is less isolated than other cases – noisy
- USB ports are almost unusable. USB devices must be forced in and the ports deform anything that is inserted. The USB ports are not full depth so even after a device is forced in, it cannot go in all the way. Both ports are the same bad design.
- This brings me to the last point – Coolermaster support is HORRIBLE. They do not respond to e-mail and a live chat describing the problem to tech support was no help. They just said to RMA the case.
If I had to do it again, I would have bought a different case from a different manufacturer.

The sides do not come off as easy as I would hope. For a big box that retails for as much as it does that should have been a given. It is made of good quality metal so it weighs a ton.
Some small parts were missing but I had replacements.
No filters are designed for this box so I made my own which will not be that easy to clean thoroughly as they are taped in. I highly recogmend that you make filters as it has a lot of large vententlation openings much bigger thatn the fan size, that dust is going to rush in without filters.
So as a cool running, almost too big, nice professional looking, good quality box I would say it’s great.
I am dissapointed that I have to struggle every time I have to open it and keeping it clean is a major issue.
After all, the purpose of keeping a cool box is for better running longer lasting parts, but if they get covered with dust then you lose all that. And, if it is a big hassle to open the case, you won’t be as likely to keep it clean.

Great, HUGE, Heavy case!! I researched quite extensively for a new case and picked this up on Black Friday. Very pleased!! 2-200mm fans and 1-120mm fan make this case an air moving monster. It has plenty of room, actually almost as much as some of the full tower cases i have seen over the years. Great cooling, tool-less design works good, great cable routing options, just overall very good quality. Oh and the top USB ports make it nice. (I think)
This is also the first build that i have used a case that has a bottom mount power supply. I think I actually prefer it that way!! No extra cables hanging down in the way. Zip tied the ones I didn’t use to the bottom, and called it good.
Think I might stick another fan on the side panel, cause the northbridge on my new MOBO get’s a little warm. Kinda neat to be able to turn the LED’s in the front 200mm fan off if you don’t like it.
Great case, buy it, you will not be disappointed.

Suffice to say the HAF 922 is NOT a HAF 932, but having written that it still comes out on top of the mid-tower computer cases with a host of standard features and attributes that separate it from the others in the class. Under “Price and value” for the $$$’s spent it really comes up strong, with Amazon.com’s sub-$100 price for the case, shipped, which helped make my purchase decision an easy one. The standard fan package is just short of perfect for the case, with the only thing missing being a case side fan assembly, which it could really use…note I deducted one Star in my rating because there was no side case fan furnished with the kit. I added twin Scythe Kaze Jyuni 110CFM fans, one intake, and one exhaust, inthe side, to make the case fan system work 100% to the good…without adding the twin fans it just got stagnant in the motherboard area, with a hot Core i7 920 CPU overclocked to 4210Mhz, running a Prolimatech Megahalems CPU Cooler, a BFG GTX 285 OC 1GB Video card, on an EVGA 132-BL-758-A1 motherboard, a pretty jam-packed assembly if I may say so myself!
Appearance scored 5 Stars, it goes without saying…I mean, come on! This thing looks WICKED! With the special Red LED front 200mm fan going full blast, pushing nice, cool air toward the back of the case, over the HD assembly and below the optical drive, the case looks fantastic at night, or even in a low light setting, on the black case body. The overall shape isn’t too bad either, ie it sort of looks like it’s ready to spring forward on the table, being “forward” canted with the menacing “HAF” graphic on the right, front side of the case stenciled there for all to see.
With respect to the Special Features of the case, I have to give it up to Cooler Master for the overall HAF design, with a nice contingent of 200mm fans, one on the top, and one in the front, with the proviso to be able to install a replacement 120mm rear exhaust fan vs. the factory CM fan assembly that they give you for back there. It’s a critical part of the cooling assembly, and the OEM fan, with just about 90CFM going for it, just didn’t cut it. So I replaced the factory fan with yet a 5th Scythe Kaze Jyuni 110CFM fan there in the rear exhaust port, so that it could effectively scavenge all the hot air coming off the Mehahalems CPU cooler with its twin Push/Pull SKJ 110CFM fans in place.
The hard drive caddys and the snap-in optical drive arrangement (Look Ma, No screws necessary!) gets 5 Stars also from this builder, as I really like being able to pop in and pop out any and all HD’s and optical drives in the HAF 922 case (not that I change them often, it’s just an easy way to build a case). You’d think that the plastic HD caddys would be subject to problems of one sort or another, but they work just fine, and I can attest to that strength because I have the same arrangement in the Big Brother to this one, a HAF 932 with my Main Squeeze PC in the house therein, and through many HD swaps in that case there has not been a failure of any sort yet in the caddy department. The optical drive “snap in” feature is especially sweet, and easy to deal with, but of course it IS wise to secure the optical drive, once installed in there with the snaps, with two sheet metal screws, just to be safe (and I did do that with this build).
Overall I am rating the HAF 922 5 Stars, because it’s a fun design, efficient, runs with my hot Core i7 920 CPU overclocked to 4210Mhz pretty darn cool temperature wise, and the standard wiring and USB/FireWire/Audio ports at the front of the case are very convenient and easy to work with. I like the looks of the case, pretty sexy and svelte and macho for a mid tower case, and it did eat up my EVGA ATX motherboard, the Meghalems CPU Cooler, all those case fans, and the wiring to put it all together with the Corsair HX750 PSU faithfully in place to do duty on the power side of thing. It’s a nice build, certainly NOT a HAF 932 by any means as I wrote already at least once, but then again it didn’t cost $150, it doesn’t take up that much space versus Big Brother’s big needs, and it looks great and does its job admirably!

I bought this Case after going through so many choices. I think I made the best decision. It was so easy to install DVD and HDD. I made a PC at home after so long so may be Computer cases has become more reliable than old days. Finished building my PC last night and it looks nice. So much space to put BIG SIZE VIDEO CARD. BUY BUY BUY without any hesitation you won’t regret it.
cons:
1) NO LED on/oFF button for side fan or other fan but I can live with it
