I was robbed. I bought a $160.00 PSU Corsair CMPSU-620HX 620W for my new computer in SLI mode. My sorprise was that I found inside the box a cheap ULTRA 500-Watt $39.00 PSU. The box was right, it came with plastic, etc. but the content doesnt. What happend?
I pay $160.00 for this:
Corsair CMPSU-620HX 620W SLI Certified Modular ATX Power Supply
I got this $39.00:
Ultra / X-Connect / 500-Watt / ATX / Dual 80mm Fan / MS-Blue / UV Clear Sides / Modular Power Supply
Few days later…
Replacement came next week. I already installed it, and I just can say: Excelent PSU!!! I still have the question: Why an ULTRA PSU came inside of an original box of CORSAIR 620HX? Who knows.

This is not actually a 1000W power supply. It is 2 500W power supplies in on package. This means that you cannot run a MoBo with 2 x GTX295s in SLI off of just this supply because each card draws about 300W. Of course you wouldn’t know that from looking at the Amazon page – buyer beware. You can only run SLI off of this card if your two graphics cards consume under 500W combined or if your MoBo and single graphics card draw under 500W combined.

I have been building PCs for the last 15 years and never had problems with any PSU even though they are not branded.
This time I thought I try this one since it is a top seller. unfortunately I kept getting warning messages that my graphics card (EVGA 8800GT) is not adequately powered. The PC kept crashing on me.
I have never thought that the culprit would be the PSU, so I tried every thing blaming the MB, then the graphics card (I almost RMA the card) and in thier forums, they blame it on the card compatibility with their PSU!!! BS
Then, one fine evening & out of curiosity only, I replaced the coarsir PSU with an old one I had and surprise surprise the power warning disappeared.
Bottomline; don’t waste your money on this one. Buy from PSU experts instead (thermaltake, zalman, …)

This is not a review about the Corsair 620HX, since I still do not have one. Thou I have only heard good things from this power supply. This is just to inform potential buyers that you may want to purchase this model from a different supplier. (ex. Newegg)
I received a Corsair VX550W instead of the 620HX. I sent it back and they rushed me out another power supply. Yet again, it was a VX550W power supply. I triple checked my order to make sure it wasn’t a mistake on my part. Everything checked out, and I was good on my end.
They told me that since this was the 2nd time I received the incorrect order, I needed to reorder the 620X again though the website. Only I can’t place it now. No, I need to wait 5 business days and place it then.
That was too much. I canceled the order, and now I’m waiting for a refund.
Amazon just lost one customer.

Had this PSU in an older non demanding computer until my newest B.A. computer was finished being built. It took only two days in my 300 watt max demanding computer to kill this thing. I had high hopes for it considering it was Cosair, hopefully the one I get back from my RMA will be problem free.
