This is a piece of garbage. Straight from the box, the temp control knob had so much play you couldn’t tell whether you were setting 450F or 300F. No indicator for pre-heat. Cheaply built (Chinese garbage). The surface of the unit gets as hot as the inside. May as well use it as a grill-top. Not safe and worthless. Amazon forces me to use at least one star to write a review, but it doesn’t deserve it.

Looks nice out of the box. First thing I noticed the edges of the door are very sharp, keep some bandaids near by. Has a stay on setting that is so hard to turn my wife can not even do it. The temp control knob keeps getting stuck as you try turning it to the lower settings. The printing around the dials is so small it is hard to read even with my glasses on. Have not even turned the thing on yet and I don’t like it (no power in new kitchen yet). Guess I’ll be taking it back unused. Too bad.

It’s impossible to adjust the toast darkness dial accurately on this thing so the kitchen has reeked of burned toast every day since I bought this piece of junk. Out it goes! Life is too short to put up with such frustration. I can’t figure out how to give it a no-star rating or that’s what I would do.

I plugged it in and turned the timer dial. It sounds like a ticking bomb. Tick, tick, tick, tick. I could probably have handled the noise for the length of making toast, but not for baking chicken.
The two stars is purely for appearance. Quite nice.
I’m confused that no one else has commented on the noise, could it just be mine?

I bought this toaster oven about a year ago when my old one died. I did read all of the reviews at the time and even though there were plenty of warnings, I decided to trust the Cuisinart brand.
I honestly tried to like it. But I mainly bought it for toasting or a quick broil to melt cheese, etc. The toasting dial is so archaic, it’s ridiculous. There is a loud ticking noise (and you better make sure you turn it ALL the way past the 10 minute mark and then ALL the way back to where you guess your toasting time should be)until the bell rings and you get to remove your unevenly browned, sometimes burned, dried out piece of toast. There is no way to set it accurately and it takes too much time to make a few lousy pieces of toast.
About a month of go, I dragged this stupid thing down to my basement and went out and bought a good old-fashioned two slice toaster for about $30.00. For the first time in years I don’t have a toaster oven, but I don’t miss it at all.
This product is not worth it no matter what it costs.
