I can’t confirm for certain, but after hooking this up to my Mac Pro none of the USB ports worked anymore!!! I can’t confirm that this device is the cause, but literally 10 minutes after hooking this up to the USB port on my Early 2009 Mac Pro (and UPS monitoring appeared to work) all my USB ports stopped working!
Not looking forward to returning this, or bringing my Mac Pro to the Apple Store but I guess I have to do both. Oh, just went in my office and my speakers, plugged into the UPS also, were humming like crazy even though the computer was off.

This is my first review on amazon and I wish I could say that a great product experience prompted it but I can’t.
The UPS had quite a few good reviews so I had high hopes. It came quickly and the box was in good shape. I hooked it up and played with it – the display was nice and seemed to give useful information. I was at 14% load, had 98% charge, and had 34 minutes of battery time.
I was about to leave it and call it good but, what the heck, I pulled the plug. To my horror my monitor blanked. But it still had power. I plugged it back in. The display came back and the computer was still working. I did it again with the same result. So I went and found my multitester, and saw the voltage drop to mid 80s on unplugging it. I looked at the maunual and the specs were 120V +/- 5% on battery power. Try +/- 25% (on only 14% load).
That seemed pretty bad and at that point I had decided to return it as it was obviously defective but that wasn’t what really prompted this review. It was looking back at the pretty display and seeing the claim that it was currently outputting 118V while my tester showed 85V. Needless to say, I think something a little rotten is going on…

My Cyberpower is hooked up to a liquid cooled behemoth of a computer with two internal hard drives, 20 inch monitor and a 1 TB external hard drive. with all of that the software that came with the Cyberpower CP1500AVRLCD estimates the battery will last 27 minutes, even if I get half of that it is more than enough time to finish up and shut down the computer safely. With this particular unit you do not have to hook up the battery and reassemble like APC requires you to do; just plug Cyberpower into wall for 16 hours and then hook it up to your computer.
You do not have to install the software it is there to make it convenient to see the status of your battery pack and its capabilities. you do not even Have to reboot the computer after installing, I believe the software is 3 MB.

this unit is smaller that I anticipated which is a good thing. Outlets are well spaced and it’s ready to go right out of the box. Not sure how the software will interface with windows power setings, as there are no options to overide windows settings. I requested super saver shipping and it came the next day. Hard to beat that.

Before buying this product I was mainly looking for a reliable power backup system. After receiving it however I am more than satisfied with it digital readout and display of diagnostics. A+
