I’ve been living under the myth that my old Infinity Minuette Center/Rear Surround combo from 10 years ago was still holding it’s age well. That was until I plugged in the Mythos Seven. All I can say it OMG. It is so crisp and clean and even at low volume levels I can hear dialogue that I had to rewind and turn up the volume to hear before.
I’m in the process of redoing my whole home theater setup and now just need to hook it up. I bought the Mythos Gems Definitive Technology Mythos Gem Satellite Speakers (Pair, Black) for rear surround (don’t forget to buy the wall mounts separately), the ProSub800 Definitive Technology ProSub 800 120v Speaker (Single, Black) which is a dream as well.
I’m holding on to my Infinity SM-155 Studio Monitors for the fronts. It’s hard to part with such a beautiful speaker (15″ woofer, two 4 1/2 and a 1″ tweet). So far so good. All this will be tied into an Onkyo TX-SR707 Onkyo TX-SR707 7.2-Channel A/V Surround Home Theater Receiver that I’m hooking up tonight. TV is a Samsung 58″ 8 Series Plasma PN58B860 Samsung PN58B860 58-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV. If the front stage doesn’t sound good enough then I’ll go with the Mythos 5’s .
You can’t go wrong with Def Tech. They are amazing speakers.

Just hung the Mythos 7 above my fireplace for a new home theatre. I am very impressed with the sound so far!!! Great value too.

I needed a low-profile center channel to replace my bulkier DefTech older speaker (ProCenter100) and chose this one based on price and dimensions.
I had no worries about choosing DefTech again b/c I have owned a 5.1 sytem from them since 2000, and have been absolutely satisfied since day one! They also just recently sent me replacement parts at no cost to fix a damaged satellite speaker and the process was exceptional with their customer service department!
Let’s face it – If you love GREAT sound and service you can brag about to your friends who aren’t audiophile nerds, and you yourself are as close to an audiophile nerd as I am, don’t blow your money on other systems/speakers. This is the best sound you will get out of bookshelf speakers compared to anyone else at a great price!
Definitive Technology, you have delivered once again! Thanks-a-million!

I recently had to change my surround sound set up due to placement of a new flat screen. I purchased the Mythos Seven to replace my Klipsch C2 center channel speaker. I was very impressed with the overall sound quality and the clarity of voices. At times with my old set up voices were hard to hear depending on what was going on in the movie. With the Mythos center I have not had this problem. Also, the size of the speaker was great with my set up. The speaker was small enough to fit on my mantle underneath the TV. I was so impressed with the speakers that I have decided to purchase the Mythos five to compliment the center.
