This is a base model Dell Studio 1737. This appeares to be a refurbished downgrade. The keyboard feels as though it has had some use….a little quirky….the “e” needs extra pressure to register….the keys are very noisy and give the sense of being a used item. The graphics card, an intel 4 series is just adequate. The studio original box with the original disks is present, a nice touch. The quirkiness continues; this is a Vista32; the included disk is a Vista64. The bluetooth is either disconnected or not present. I like the looks of this computer. I don’t like the quirky, noisy, heavy touch keyboard. Oh yeah, the screen looks good, too, with enough brightness for me! My only real disappointment is the keyboard; otherwise, I would recommend this. Don

I just got off the phone after waiting yet “another” 2hrs 45minutes trying to get answers and service to my laptop.
The reps passed me along for 2 hours and 45 minutes; and still dissatisfied.
I had my Dell Studio for less than 6 months when it would not turn on.
I am the only one that uses it, had never removed it from my home and treated it with TLC.
Well hours were spent REPEATING the same story, answering the SAME QUESTIONS, being transferred from Rep to Rep….HOURS!
They finally sent out a local Tech and he could not fix it. He told me that it is not unusual for Dell to dispatch “malfunctioning” replacement parts. Imagine…”not unusual”.
More time spent and NO resolution to the problem.
More time on the phone. More getting tossed from Rep to Rep.
Finally I was sent a box to return the laptop to Dell for servicing.
More lost time time to get together with FEDEX-twice, outgoing and incoming.
I finally received the laptop back and it was a disgrace. INK MARKS ON THE COVER, DENTS TO THE INTERIOR PLASTIC PARTS, STICKY DROPS ON THE KEYBOARD.
Here we go again.
HOURS on the phone and they finally agree to have the parts replaced. Sure???
The local tech called twice. Both times disregarding the phone number I requested they use and the TIMES I told Dell I would be available.
When I called DELL (more time WASTED) on the phone tryng to get this service technician to call me back. This time, Dell informed me that the local technician had sent everything back stating that he had called FOUR TIMES without a callback. Outright lie.
Hours later the SUPERVISOR agreed to call me with details of service call. NEVER HAPPENED.
Now the SAME local technician, repeats his routine of calling at the wrong time and calling the wrong phone !
Did I say 2hrs 45minutes? 4 Reps just to have me REPEAT the same information, 4 different times and to be told in the end that I could call Tech Dispatch to arrange for service call.
I almost bought an APPLE…now I know why.
DON’T Buy Dell unless you like the worst customer service imaginable and a faulty products.
