This Sirius model is what I wanted and bought for a good price.
Can’t beat that.

Beware – This radio is awful. Took almost an hour with Sirius customer service to get it working, and even then the wireless FM transmitter was so weak that you couldn’t get a clear signal… even when the unit was right next to the radio. I had no choice but to use the “optional” (according to page 10 of the instructions)transmitter wire, which is very unsightly. And after all that, it’s still not great audio, even though the Sirius tech guys walked me through trying at least 6 different channels. Don’t waste your money on this unit. My old Sirius radio was pretty beat up, but worked 100 times better than this one.

I’ve literally gone through three Sportster3 and its a lousy peace of equipment. I used the home kit and it works fine for a few weeks then the receiver won’t power on. Add to this the long procedure of calling Sirius warranty apart from the agony of them shipping wrong items or missing accessories. After regularily spending that much time, effort and money it gets to the point when you tell yourself “to hell with satellite radio”.

Within the first year of my Sirius subscription I am having problems with my 3rd Sportster 3.
1st radio – power supply cord for car malfunctioned after 3 weeks
2nd radio – Antenna began malfunctioning after 1st month
3rd radio – This one was ok for first 6 months however none of the buttons on the unit itself work now except for the knob which can only be turned. Without the remote the radio is useless.
I am happy with the subscription however I would definately buy any other brand of radio. Sirius dock and play radios are terrible.
