The Earforce HPA2PC Headphones by Turtle Beach are excellent. They take a little bit of time to get used to the ear enclosing cups and over long periods of time can feel slightly uncomfortable, however overall they are excellent; snug but not too tight.
The sound quality is wonderful, but you need to make sure everything is configured correctly; both on the adapter and through your sound card settings. Once configured the 5.1 sound is excellent, both in movies and games. In games the surround sound is very accurate, I can hear my enemies direction and bullets buzzing past me make me want to duck! My only gripe is that there is no dimension in sound, such as in games things may be closer or further than they sound, the headphones do not distinguish distance well.
If your looking for some good media headphones, especially for gaming under $100, these are excellent. The microphone works well and I haven’t had any issues with it. These are built to last!

These headphones are a little heavy. Not bad, but you seem to notice them after wearing them for a while. They are over the ear headphones. If you have very large ears these may be uncomfortable. The mic has very good quality, but the design is a little clunky, both in the way it connects to the headphones and how it fits over in front of your mouth. The end is so large that you have to keep it low or its in your field of vision.
Most important is the sound quality. These are hands down the best quality headphones I’ve ever had. But, as far as a surround sound experience, they are bearly better than a standards set of headphones. I was a little disappointed with this, but my expectations were not the highest since I wasn’t sure how this would work at all. Up and down directions are non existant. front left as compared to back right are decernable, but front left to back left bearly are. You do get an impression of something behind you as opposed to in front of you, but the quality of the game you are playing may determine how well this works. In Team fortress 2, they seem to be just like any other headphones regarding thier surround sound ability. In Americas army, you get a more detailed sound, and thus you seem to tell directions better.
These are probably the best quality headphones you will find, but if you were hoping for a true surround sound experience, I just don’t think its possible fully, with headphones.

This is a very nice headset, for the price. With the extra settings i.e. front, rear, center, surround, makes it well worth the price. The only con I have is the weight. They seem heavy on my head.

The mic im told sounds (ventrilo and bf2/2142 voip) great that audio sounds great. I don’t think I would ever use them for music (fear of blowing the subs) but for gaming I would not dream of using anything else!!!!!

Superior quality. Very Comfortable. My son (Wookiee)as a Semi-Pro Gamer, has increased his first person shooting a lot. He can’t wait to compete this weekend at PDX-Lan 14 at the Holiday Inn, Airport.
