I was reluctant to get this model being that it is an emachine but cash is tight right now for me so I took a chance. It set up very easily and everything works as it should.. sound card and everything. Now I am not a gamer so I don’t need huge resorces. I am pleased and happy with my purchase and glad to not be out $200 + more which is what I would have been for a similier type cpu. Good deal and very fast.

This is a great computer for the money. I have had it since January 2010. My only complaints are that one of the disc trays won’t open and it is made of cheap materials but I can live with that for the price. I kept my old Dell just in case. I like the fact that it has NVIDIA since I am an avid gamer and couldn’t play my games on my old comp. The 500 GB hard drive is a real improvement over my old comp too.

I am very pleased with my new emachine (ET1831-05). It is very fast and trouble free.

Three days and not a single problem since I plugged it in – has recognized all my old monitor, printer and USB devices. Mine plays music through the headphone jack just fine (Realtex audio drivers were all there for me), easy to download and install software; very quiet running and plenty fast for web surfing. I got this to do Quicken and routine chores and frankly it’s a better computer than I expected for such a value price

Only eMachines would sell a PC whose sound card does not work with the operating system (Windows 7). Google search windows 7 no sound eMachines and the results speak with themselves.
