Hello! I bought one of these for my wife (I missed the Lightening Deal!) and it works just as it claims. She loves the extended battery life. The problem is, she has not been able to find a carrying case or clip-on holster (for her purse)that accommodates the extra length. If you have a product that allows the extra size to fit, please let me know by “commenting” on my review. Thanks for your ideas!

CHARGE IT TOGETHER OR SEPARATELY FROM THE IPHONE. THE WAY IT WORKS IS THAT DRAIN IT’S BATTERY FIRST AND USES IPHONE BATTERY AFTER THAT. IT DOUBLES THE CAPACITY. I LOVE IT

I bought this when it was a Lightning Deal, using it for the first time today. The charger works just as it’s supposed to, using the battery from the charger while the phone battery stays full. I fully charged this overnight before using. I anticipate a much longer batter life on my 3g s now that I have this to use.

I purchased this on Black Friday and I love it, worth the price at $29.99!
I use this when I’m in the house or office and not really worried about protection since I have a mophie juice pack that I use when out. The mophie is great but much more expensive so the energizer case will help increase the life of the more expensive case.

I bought this device on impulse when it was a “Gold Box” special here at Amazon.com. There are occasions when I need to have my iPhone away from a charging source over a long day and this is when this iPower case is particularly useful. When it and the iPhone are both charged fully the battery life of the phone is extended considerably (I can’t provide an exact amount; I’d guess the capacity is about doubled). In this respect the thing works and works well, and so I consider the investment worthwhile.
Contrary to what some other reviewers claim, the battery pack has no discernible adverse effect on the phone’s reception and the phone fits into the case snugly but not excessively so. The reasons for my three star instead of five star review are as follows:
1) When the phone itself is at 100% capacity and the battery case is essentially topping off this full charge as power is drawn by the phone, the iPower device constantly turns on and off. This would be ok except that unless you mute all sound from the phone (via the ringer switch) the phone will “chirp” each time the power charging process begins anew. This is annoying! Sometimes removing the phone and reseating it in the power case stops this behavior for a while, but it seems to be inextricably tied to how the thing works, unfortunately.
2) The design of the case is good overall, but in an effort to make it more convenient to insert and remove the iPhone the designers made the case slightly less protective than would be ideal. Much of the top of the phone is exposed to scratches and impacts, unfortunately. This is not a fatal problem (I hope!) but I find myself wishing the case covered the phone up a bit more fully.
The case is also heavy, but given its dual function as both case and battery, this is understandable.
For all of these reasons, I find myself using the case only in particular situations when I really need the extra power. Otherwise, I use more lightweight and protective cases.
