I ordered this, not from Epson, but through another seller at Amazon. It ended up not being what the higher priced brand name should deliver in terms of quality. It ended up being the one not printing and I knew I had only put it in, as the “generic” one, just put in, had failed on me. It was the first time that a “generic” failed after using them since forever. I figured I would try the brand name, and live it up a little! Imagine my surprise when I saw it was the brand name not printing. I checked the inks when the problem arose and then became aware that this Epson magenta was manufactured in 2005 and was the oldest ink in the printer. The “generics” were all manufactured more recently. So that was the problem—logically anyway. I figured it was the manufacture date and the ink was old. I cleaned the heads a few times and that cleared up the problem. My advice, I guess, if not ordering directly from Epson, for an Epson ink, find out first the date of manufacture, if you can.

I have been using Epson printers and inks for the last 8 years. As someone who does digital photo restoration, scrapbooking, and crafting, I use my printer almost daily for difficult tasks. The things I like most about the dura brite ink are it’s reliable color, it’s quick drying, and it’s resistance to fading and water. Some people complain about the cost, but you get what you pay for. This is a quality product that will outperform generic inks every time, and when you are talking about scrapbooking your memories or printing photos, you want them to last forever!
