I ordered this product in October and received it fairly quickly through super saver shipping. Out of the box, it didn’t work. The ink and paper lights blinked red. I talked with Epson support and they told me to send it back to Amazon, which I did. Amazon says that the printer is not in stock and won’t send me a new one until January. It says here that the printer is in stock. So, I canceled my order and am uncertain what to do now.

This printer was non functional out of the box. I called Epson and waited on the phone for customer service (after getting no where online); finally after quite some time, they determined that the printer was defective and sent me a new one.

Too funny, “Unsatisfied.” From my experience, Amazon is lightning-quick in exchanging defective merchandise when there’s a problem, even sending the replacement before the defective one is received at its warehouse (and you’re not charged, like some other websites do, for shipping it back). But the item has to be in stock and, if it’s not, you’re given an estimate. You’re an adult…if the item becomes available sooner, then email Amazon about the situation and I bet you’ll get it probably via expedited shipping for your troubles at no extra shipping cost. But don’t whine and moan about how bad the item is when you got an errant defective one and Amazon didn’t have any in stock to immediately replace.
As far as the printer, it is what it is. Basic, inexpensive photo printer with the different ink cartridges (expensive to replace them all but you only have to replace what you use the most vs. an all-in-one color cartridge). Pretty decent quality and flexibility.

The product never arrived and will be calling credit card company to investigate, Amazon has not reponded to my email or request to the vendor.

I bought a digital camera and Circuit City gave me the Epson Photo R280 for free with it. I thought, what a deal. After a few pretty good prints, it was out of ink. Six Epson refills cost $130, so I tried some generic inks I bought online, and Epson said, no, they’re not good enough for me.
So, you get their free printer, and the ink drives you to the poor house.
No thanks. No more Epson for me again, even if it is free.
