Have had this for around 8 mo. and have not used it that much. It is a solid product and well worth the $$ $pent. I would recommend this to all.

I am going to be a bit harsh because the one I got was not new it looked used or refurbished. It had random scratches on it and that thin plastic film that normally covers the LCD and face of the unit was missing. I warmed it up and set it for 5 mil and it was not hot enough to laminate a 5 mil pouch. I let it sit for 20 minutes and tried again. Still would not laminate so I passed it through half a dozen times and it would not laminate. It simply doesn’t get hot enough. I set it to 10 mil and then it would work but I had to pass 5 mil pouches through 3x to get a good seal. That is exactly how many times I have to pass the same 5 mil pouches through my cheapo $80, made for 3 – 5 mil, laminator which is now several years old. I either have a defective unit that was repaired improperly or this unit is not worth the money. I don’t have any 10 mil pouches to test but I highly doubt this unit gets hot enough to laminate at that thickness.
I am returning mine as it appears used and might buy another and if that one works as miserably I will return that one too. I really wanted this product to work. If I had to run 7 mil and 10 mill through a couple of times as someone mentioned then so be it but 3x for 5 mil is a joke.

I do 100 laminations at a pop and this machine does not balk. It performs as promises and I can not find anything negative about it to report.

I did a lot of research on laminators and this was one of the few that did up to 10 mil and was not a huge amount of money. It takes less than 5 minutes to heat up even for the 10 mil setting. Less time on the thinner pouches. It laminates fast and precise and I am very satisfied with this product. I have used a professional roll laminator in the past and this puts out a product just as good as that. I have not tried the cold setting yet or put in any pouch larger than the letter size but I see no reason that even the 12 x 18 menu size would not laminate just as perfect. Simple directions to follow to use as well as maintain. I would not hesitate to recommend this to any of my friends.

A year ago, I purchased an expensive professional roll laminator and it quit working. For a few days I did some research on laminators and this was one of the few that did 7 and 10 mil for which I constantly work at these settings. I was surprise to find this one for about half the money. It takes about 4 minutes to heat up even for the 10 mil setting. It laminates fast and precise and I am very satisfied with this product. I read the simple directions and was at work in about 10 minutes. Easy to maintain, especially the hinged cover that exposes the path of the work piece at the very top, to correct any paper/pouch jams. I personally would recommend this unit to any out there that is interested in a low cost unit and very dependable. Oh yes, you do have to run the 7 and 10 mil pouches through twice to get a good bond. Do it immediately on the second time while the pouch is hot, it gives you a smooth nice looking product. Also I use 32 lb paper which at the end looks very professional. I make hundreds of various book markers and other items for our church.
