I purchased two G-Drive Combo two years ago.I sent one of them in for repair 3 WEEKS AGO and still haven’t been able to get them to tell me what is wrong with my drive. The first two calls they were not able to find my drive, they lost it…After the Third and Fourth call on Friday the customer service guy told me to call back on Monday. He also said to expect to be on hold for about an hour. Each time I call I am on hold for about 20 minutes.
DO NOT PURCHASE ANY PRODUCT FROM THIS COMPANY YOU WILL BE SORRY.

I bought the 1.5 Tb version of this drive based on a favorable review in Photoshop Users Magazine. The drive is very attractive looking, but within two weeks, both of the RAID drives failed. I received a prompt RMA number but it took 9 weeks to get the drive back. The drive failed again as soon as I plugged it in. Do not trust your data to this drive.

I bought this drive as my main backup about a month ago – setup was a breeze, performance is great and it’s very quiet.
Can’t speak about long-term reliability, but I hear good things.
The only thing I don’t like is something I know almost all drives using their own power chord do: it doesn’t power down when the computer it’s linked to does, requiring me to eject it and turn it off every time I turn off or put to sleep my computer. Otherwise it just keeps running with the little fan blowing – which does get annoying.
However – since I don’t know of any other large drives that act otherwise, I can’t fault it for that.
If I had to buy a new drive, I’d always get a G-Drive!

G-Tech G-Raids are really the best. Excellent design. Caveat Emptor! If you EVER have to deal with customer service, at G-Tech they are really about the worst you could deal with. Hey Hitachi, clean up your act!
