I selected this version of the NVidia 250 card/chipset because it has both DVI and HDMI output. This card is in a Windows Media Center computer hooked up to a HDTV. I also bought this card for its CUDA GPU interface. I do a great deal of home videos and was frustrated with the video transcoding times with my CPU. Using a CUDA enabled encoder (Badaboom), encoding is faster than realtime and my CPU’s are not consumed so that I can use my PC for other things.
One complaint that I have is the way that this card hooks to my S/DIF connector on my motherboard, and even on the card. The card has two unmarked and hard to find pins that you need to connect a generic cable. The generic connectors would not fit the connection on my mother board so I had to splice two connector wires to get the needed connectivity. I would have prefered that Galaxy use standard connectors. Other than this one problem the card has been working great.
