I have never had a GPS unit before, so this one is a first for me. We will use it mostly when traveling, but I’ve been playing with it alot in town since I received it. The voice is clear and easy to understand, and the maps are easy to use. I was frustrated that a detailed users manual was not included in the box, but found it here as a PDF. I’m quite excited about my new “toy.”

I did a lot of research before buying this Garmin Nuvi 1350Garmin nüvi 1350 Series 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator. I had it delivered to my friends address in US as I was coming here for a vist from Toronto, Canada (where I live). So I got my hands on this product a week after delivery. The delivery was prompt and thats all whats positive about this experience. Now here’s the facts:
This unit never detected satellite. It is eternally stuck in acquiring satellite mode. First I thought it was because I was in the hotel room, so I went outdoors under open and clear sky. But no change whatsoever. I carried it around in a GPS case all over Manhattan and checked it everywhere from Times Square to Battery Park. But it is still at acquiring satellite mode. I works if satellite is disabled though, but what use is that?
I give this product a zero because it never went online. I was counting on this product for my vacation but it completely messed up my trip, not to mention my all my future trips. I am currently working to return this product.

It gets me from point A to point B, but not always in the best manner. Battery life stinks.

I found the Garmin nuvi 1350 very easy to use. I am not tech savy, but this was so easy anyone could use it.
