This is a refurbished GPS. Refurbished generally means that the unit has been returned to the manufacturer, who brings the navigator back to like new conditions. Some GPS may contain cosmetic blemishes. Garmin continues to build up its nüvi 7xx series portable GPS navigators with its nüvi 765T, which adds a number of handy routing and communication features to an already impressive list of specs, including a 4.3-inch widescreen display, text-to-speech capabilities, media player, and FM transmitter for transmitting audio–including directions and MP3 music and audiobooks–from the device to your car radio.

Buyer beware. This didn’t work straight out of the box. Garmin will only replace with another refurbished unit. Save yourself time and aggravation and buy something new.

Completeness of features down one because the 3D view of intersections, for the most part, does not exist.
Reliability down one because the touch screen sometimes selects the wrong input if they are close, and when sliding the power button, sometimes the screen is bumped (when mounted in high locations.) and it causes the unit not to shut down for some reason.
Value is great. It works, bluetooth works great, and the maps are not wrong. It gets you where you need to go, and it is extremely accurate. I would recommend this to a friend, in fact my wife is getting this for Christmas too, but don’t tell her.
If I had to nit-pick, I would have to wish the cord was not proprietary, as the cord contains the antenna for the FM traffic updates. But who cares, this GPS is great, and TRAFFIC is FREEEEE!

It’s such a relief to have something giving directions. New to my area, I need directions to go anywhere and everywhere. While juggling a map and trying to read a street sign, I got a ticket. No more!
I’ve only used it once since I received it so I can’t say anything much more. The one time was terrific.
The first one I received could not pronounce the letter ‘r.’ Amazon was great about taking it back and replacing it quickly. They even gave me the difference in price, because the price had gone down. Can’t ask for much more.

Great product, maps up to date (with update) but, voice a littled mumbled and not loud enough as compared to a Tom Tom.

Keep in mind this is a factory refurb, although when selecting only “New” the first item listed and sold by Amazon indicates its a new product. Once you add it to your cart it then displays that its a refurbished item; I don’t normally buy refurb’s, but figured since it was sold by Amazon I had nothing to lose…. wrong, now for the review.
It only lasted 3 days, it has now been sent back. I should have taken the advise from others who have this model. Not only is the 765T junk (read the reviews from different sites), you also have the additional variable that its a refurb; obviously it was returned for a reason right? DO NOT buy refurbished Garmin products, pay the extra and get a new model, I would also highly suggest getting a different model other than the 765.
- Battery only lasted 15 – 20 minutes
- Interface very sluggish and very slow to re-calculate
- Loses satellites
- Brightness didn’t work when plugged into power
- Kept resetting/rebooting
- Running a non-shipping firmware version. Received it with 3.80, but the latest is 3.60. Garmin suggest downgrading, bricked it.
