I wish I had looked closer and had seen that the male plug only has 3 contacts. This will not output stereo from your device (iphone type included, even with an adapter).

I was so happy with the purchase of my PC headset to smartphone adapter Headset Buddy: PC to 3.5mm Smartphone Adapter: Convert Dual 3.5mm to 3.5mm, PC Computer Headset to iPhone, Blackberry, Palm, Samsung, LG, HTC that I bought this adapter for my husband. Sound quality is great and he takes with with him everywhere he goes (instead of carrying around 2 headsets).

I ordered this and received a one-piece adapter that was not at all like the depicted picture.

This came fairly quickly and works as advertised. The one I got is a smaller more convenient package than the long one pictured by Amazon. It’s much smaller now, about 2 inches long with a solid plastic piece to connect the two 3.5 mm plugs. These adapters spots are labeled ‘headset’ and ‘headphones’, which initially cause me to not plug in the headset/mic correctly. The outbound 2.5 mm is connected with a low gauge wire but as long as you don’t yank on it, it will be fine.

Couldn’t make it any easier to use. Works as advertised. More important, it lets me use my favorite headset(Logitech Premium Notebook Headset) to talk on my cell phone as well as my mac/pc via skype…
