I first ordered HCM-6009 on Amazon and it did not work so I returned it and reordered HCM-6011i on Amazon again. I should not have ordered it again because the HCM-6011i I got did not work either.

One of the water tanks came broken. I fixed it myself with a little epoxy. The fan shuts off when it runs out of water, which i think is a dumb idea. Otherwise, seems to work as advertised.

I’ve had this about two weeks. The first week it was fine – so of course i threw out the box it came in. Now it won’t stay running. The connection between the cord and the unit itself is temperamental. I have to fiddle, wiggle and play to get it going again and then it will just shut itself off at any given time (on the highest setting so it’s not the humidistat causing it to shut off). Trying to work my way through it but if not, i’ve then got to figure out how to send something this big back.
To be fair, when it runs, it does what it should. The highest fan setting is pretty loud but the second highest is plenty tolerable.

The humidifier works well, and has good features like a humidistat and multiple fan settings. However, the person that designed the water tanks should be FIRED! I have absolutely no idea what Honeywell was thinking when they designed these water tanks. First, there are two separate tanks that have to be filled. This in itself is not a huge problem, except that you have to unscrew the large cap to do it. There is no spring loaded refilling button to push like on my last humidifier. In order for the tanks not to leak, you have to screw the caps on tight. In doing this, it makes them nearly impossible to remove. If you don’t have strong hands and wrists, stay away from this product! Also, you cannot set these down in your sink to refill, as the top side of the tanks have a funky curved surface that makes them tip over if you are not holding them. This makes it a complete pain to refill, which you have to do every day, as the tanks don’t hold much more than a gallon each. I would definitely NOT BUY THIS AGAIN.

The first thing I realized when I received this humidifier is that is huge. I guess that’s my fault for not noticing that it’s on castors in the picture. So, rather than sitting on my dresser in the bedroom, it sits on the floor. That being said, it does an amazing job. It is about as noisy as a machine a third of the size. It also has an auto shut-off feature which means you won’t be over saturating the air with water and can really fine tune the atmosphere to your liking. It has two water tanks, which means it can run while you fill one up. Even with the camel-like water capacity, I still need to fill it about once every two-to-three days.
