I received the order from amazon 1 day after I ordered (heads up to Amazon!!!). When I unpacked it I was amazed how big, downright clunky it is, I guess it should be expected if it holds 11 gallons of water. The way it is put together is very flimsy and feels it is breaking apart even before I turned it on for the first time. The water tanks which hold 6 gallon of water each barley sit on the machine and the fan and motor do not have a well adjusted seat on the base and you have to wiggle them around to find the correct position. The filter does not look very effective (it looks more like a rough loin cloth) and as for their instructions is supposed to be soaking wet (“wet filter under water and do not wring it out”) every time you refill this thing. Also the cleaning instructions are to much, you have to clean it with bleach before you even put it to work for the first time.
I did not even put it to work once because I was to afraid it would fall apart and cause some water damage. Not a very good product!

After two weeks using, filter is full of mold, and the noise is very annoying.

I really like this unit it really does the job. 3 Year warranty is great. The 3 fan speeds are great 3 can be a little noisey, 2 is a nice white noise for sleeping. The water containers are not overly large which make this unit manageble, neat and compact for easy storage, the filters can be found in retail stores. have had the Bemis Whole House Digital Humidifier 4D7 800, After 1 year it stoped large bulky and noise warranty 1 year. The containers end up very heavy. Also own Hunter carefree Humidifier with humidistat, 5 year warrant and great customer service. The filters need changing every month.

Several days ago I received my first Honeywell HCM-6012i. It arrived with one of the plastic water tanks broken and had to be returned. Amazon immediately sent me out a replacement unit. It arrived today. The box looked pretty beat up but the unit itself shows no apparent physical damage. However it does not work. The filter has been soaked, tanks have been filled with water, the unit is on, the lights are illuminated, but I cannot feel any cool air coming from the unit. The humidity level is set, the filter has been soaked and the fan is set to high, but there is absolutely no sound or cool air coming from the machine at all. This one will have to be returned also and two defective units is too much for me. This time I will ask for a refund and not a replacement….and buy a different brand.

The honeywell hcm-6012i looks great until you attemp to fill it with water. The shape of the tanks requires more hands then a human posses to unscrew the lid, turn on the water, balance it while filling and screwing the lid back on now that it is full of water. This process is a two person job in a tub or a very deep sink.this just goes to show you once again beauty isn’t every thing.
