I purchased this sleeve for my HP Mini. I used it for the first time on a flight to and from new york. Just from being in my backpack on that flight, the thing looks like a cat got at it. There is nothing in the bag that would snag it, no velcro, sharp zippers, etc. so this was puzzling to me. just seems like the construction is poor and it starts to come apart immediately.

The HP Mini features a thinner body style than it’s competing netbooks – something I enjoy about my HP Mini 1030NR. Unfortunately, most case/sleeve manufacturers produce sleeve sizes to fit the most common netbook size (a bit wider). I looked all around for a case UNIQUELY fit for my HP and found this – its even made by HP. Looking past the funky/gaudy print I purchased it immediately, excited to finally have a fitting neoprene sleeve.
Two days later I own a shoddy neoprene case with HP’s logo on it that doesn’t even fit the product it was ‘designed’ for. It was made to the dimensions of every other notebook out there. Perhaps they want to make some money from other netbook owners? Who knows.
Anyways, if you own an HP Mini, this case is 1.5in wider than your netbook. If you don’t mind your computer sliding a round a bit and sporting an obnoxious ‘bubble’ print, this case is for you.

There are some reviews that say the sleeve is too big/loose for their netbook. I can only surmise that HP has revised the product. The dimensions as listed by Amazon are 9.4″ x 11.4″ x 1″. These are wrong. As listed on the package I received, the current model is 8″ x 11″ x 1″. This makes a huge difference to me because the former dimensions would have fit my 6-cell 10.2″ netbook just fine. The new size will not. That extra 1.4″ is gone. It’s too bad because it is a really nice looking and really nicely padded sleeve. I give it 2 stars for the quality and fit IF you have a 3-cell netbook. I take away 3 stars because I specifically bought this based on the dimensions and some reviews that it fit the 6-cell.

Holds the computer snugly and gives some protection. Could be a little larger since the computer with the battery pack makes for a snug fit. But, over all it’s nice looking and does the job.

This case works perfectly for my netbook, which has the six-cell battery. Not room for much else inside, but it is nicely padded and I feel much more secure carrying my netbook around now. Looks good, too.
