This is a great printer. I have an HP desktop, laptop and I figured — if I am going to buy a printer why not buy me a HP printer, right? Wrong!
I love all HP products, and I love Amazon, I went ahead and purchased my HP printer via Amazon. When I purchased my printer no where on the Amazon page did it say that there would be NO USB CABLE included with the printer. Not even in the BOX of the printer does it say you need the USB cable. Now, I realize the cable is only $10 and it is considered change for some, so my concern is on the principal, not on the product
It is funny that HP includes the ink drum (a consumable) but does not include the usb cable (a non consumable). I mean, thankfully they do include the power plug. I spent 20 minutes on the phone complaining to both HP support (actually some guy in India).
Welcome to the 21st Century!
For all other potential buyers of HP, I LOVE their products, this is the first time I have seen them doing something this funny — I imagine the printer is just as good as the 5-star reviewer claims it to be.

Second P1005… second one that will not print due to paper jams.
If you want a fun hour and a half though, contact their Tech support so they can ask you what operating system you have… because somehow that’s related to paper jams.
I couldn’t tell you how the print quality is on the printer. I can tell you it eats paper.

All I wanted was a compact laser printer that I can use at work. After reading all the reviews and specs I went ahead and bought it.
After 2 days of trying to get it to actually print, I found out that it really is NOT compatible with mac. I can’t even add it as a printer for my printing list. It doesn’t show up. On the information provided by all vendors, it said that mac with the current os will be able to recognize the printer. It doesn’t!! I was so happy to get it in the mail. Totally got deflated when it won’t work. Mac users beware.

We bought this printer for just over $100. It is was easy to set up, prints very fast, and has excellent black and white quality. Exactly what we were looking for.

Printer setup not included with package but it was easy to accomplish anyway. Be sure to order a USB to printer cable (not included).
