Great For Travel or Outside Use~A break from Earbuds.
This unit is not meant to wear around your neck to take walks with, it’s a bit big and heavy for that!

This item is perfect for the beach, cars, hotel rooms, and long walks. It is a little hard to work your iPod through the protective plastic, but I love that you do not have to open the entire case each time you want to change a song or turn the volume up or down. The speakers are plenty loud, but at the highest level do make the sound a little distorted. Over all I LOVE THIS speaker case for times when I am away from home.

While I confess I didn’t buy this here, and paid much less, I’m crazy about it and wanted to let others know. This has two mini speakers, not one like some, for stereo sound. I don’t own an iPod [don't want one] but use it for my MP3 player which has a vastly different size and shape–it still fits snug and perfect! And, yes, I can still operate the controls with ease. In five months of frequent use, I have not yet needed to replace the 2 AA batteries! Because of its design, I also use it as an external speaker with my laptop to boost the volume and quality when my family watches movies. Recently traveled with it, and was even more impressed–gave the perfect “bounce” [sound quality] in the vehicle’s environment, and getting tossed around [okay, slammed] in Saturday madness had no effect whatsoever. Also discovered it to be rain resistant with speaker side down on same trip. After all of this, it still looks like it just was removed from the box. Could also be used between two people with two headsets, and would be perfect for audiobooks, since headset quality and the spoken word don’t always mix. If you use a mini MP3 player, there’s room in there for your player AND mini flash drives to keep all your music in one place and change on the go! My husband wishes he had this while he still suffered from his old job–frequent conference calls where he was only required to listen, no input needed, often occurring while in transit. He could’ve simply connected his cell inside, answered the call, and ended the call when done, with only a split-second push of a button instead of all the fumbling normally required. If you don’t use a bluetooth, it could always be used for call monitoring or checking voicemails while traveling, too. Of all the items I’ve ever bought in my life, or received as gifts, this product makes my top 3. . . and I use it with the other two.

Great Buy for iPod Nano 4g
When I first saw this product, I thought 2 different things.
1) it looks super small
2) I don’t know if it will be able to do the job right.

I recently purchased one of these for my iPod touch because I liked how it encapsulated the iPod. It appeared to be the perfect solution with its built in speakers. The photos do not show that there is actually hard plastic inside instead of more protective foam. If you drop it, there will will be plenty impact transferred to you iPod. I loaded 4 AAA batteries into it and was immediately disappointed with the low volume from the speakers. There is no external volume knob. After not even a minute of operation, there was terrible distortion in the speakers and a hot plastic, burning smell. I scrambled to shut it off and get my iPod out to make sure there was no damage. I was lucky. The store I bought it from would not accept the return, so I am out the money. Buyer beware!

Great sound but bigger than it appears
I bought this for my 2nd generation Ipod touch. The sound is great but it’s a little bigger than I expected.

Poor Sound
Very poor sound quality! Also, do you really want this big cluncky box hanging around your neck? There are many better alternatives in the market.
