On paper the specs of this unit look quite nice. However, I cannot find any information on whether this actually supports HD movies (e.g. from recording HDTV off-the-air, in 1080i or 720p MPG2 format). I called Iomega tech support and they could not provide an answer. They could not tell me whether h264 files would work either. Until they do specify properly the types of files, I cannot recommend the unit.

I bought this product and it never worked ok!! It crashed and stopped even new!! Very bad item! I don’t know what happened with it and where to get my warranty.

Works great! Could have been a better way to switch b/t usb connection & hdmi cause you have to power down and restart in between. Weird enough, this actually turns on with my dvd player remote as I discovered when trying to watch a movie one night. To avoid this, I programmed a universal remote instead.

I love this product, the only thing is that you have to download your own software to be able to save your DVD’s on it. when you figure out how to do that then your good to go. I saved atleast 30 DVD’s already and have not used even half the space.

This is a VERY nice unit. I have been waiting for something like this to come out so I could store all my movies, videos and pictures on instead of filling up my hard drive.
