My Gorillapod was to have arrived by Dec. 16. It still has not arrived, and it is too late for my use. I will be canceling the order on my Citicard.

UPDATE:
My D40 is too heavy for this… a leg fell off.. You’ll never take any perfectly horizontal/vertical shots.. This is not a good tripod for DSLRs.. This is for point and shoot or one of those heavy point and shot cameras.. If you buy anything heavier than D40+50mm kit.. forget about it…
I think I’ve had it with Amazon. I’ve ordered this item from Amazon and they are taking forever to ship the item. It sounds like a good item, but if you want your item ASAP, try other websites like buydig. Amazon shipping will take at least 1week to prepare the item, and another 1 week to ship for some reason… 2 years ago, the shipping was fast and efficient, but just like every other big shot company, their service had deteriorated.

Very, very small (monkey) pod. Would recomend only for very small/light point and shoots etc…

I would not recommend this item except for the lighest weight pocket cams, and then maybe not even for this use. About the only thing it is good for is to wrap an attached cam around a tree branch or similar item. As to the thought of mounting a 35mm digi to it, that’s like an elephant mounting a fly.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R9ANK9AN12DWF This is a video review for the Targus Grypton Portable Tripod, which appears to be a rebranded Joby GP1 (edit: cheap knockoff). It was purchased at a Radio Shack for $9.99, normally priced at $14.99, a little cheaper than the Joby. On my first trip with the tripod, it fell from 3 feet from the car it was resting on when someone closed the car door. One of the ball joints on the tripod cracked, but thankfully didn’t break my camera! It could still be used level, only at certain angles as shown in the video. Then I superglued the cracked balljoint, which fixed the problem, but lost some flexibility. The main issues were durability, and stability (especially with a camera that has an offset tripod mount). Definitely go for the Joby over this ‘deal.’
Camera used – Pentax Optio WPi.
